It was originally developed by Theo Koop of Koop Nautic fame who has a massive understanding of super yacht roll stabilizers. Their first systems were powered hydraulically.
In 2013 Theo’s new Company RotorSwing set about designing systems appropriate for smaller craft between 12 and 35 meters that can be run powered from small AC inverters as small as 1.6 kW, eliminating the requirement for a genset.
