Balmar Knows How to Charge Your Batteries
Balmar has been serving the recreational marine industry for over 30 years, supplying DC Charging Products and Battery Monitors to help sailors and power boaties charge and monitor their batteries more efficiently.
Balmar is recognized throughout the industry for it’s innovative technology, expert technical service and product reliability.
Balmar alternators can typically be divided between “small case” and “large case” applications with charging rates from 70 to 310 amps @ 12VDC , 70 to 220 amps @ 24VDC and 60-100 amps @48VDC.
Small case (6-Series and XT-Series) alternators are generally used for light to medium duty, recreational applications such as sailboats and recreational powerboats utilizing either petrol or diesel engines. 70- 220 amps
Large case 94-, 95-, 97-and 98-Series alternators are designed for mid-range and heavy-duty cycle applications where large diesel engines (>150HP) are predominantly utilized, 160-310 amps.
High output alternators are an important part of your system for battery care, but are definitely not the only part. Without proper voltage regulation, battery charging can be a slow process, or even worse, an ideal recipe for early battery failure.
